While I was raised throughout southern Indiana, we lived in Vincennes the longest. When my mother would say she wanted to go visit "down home", it was Vincennes that meant "home" to her. She attended elementary school at Vigo in the 1930's, I attended in the early 1970's and my children attended in the late 1980's, so I suppose our connection is multi-generational. My great-grandparents are buried at Beale Cemetery, and the next 2 generations at Memorial Park. I am nostalgic for the Vincennes of my youth, but as we all know, time marches ever onward.

I earned my Associate of Science degree from Vincennes University. I earned a Bachelors of Arts from Indiana University with a double major in Studio Art and Art history. In Studio Art I concentrated in both Textile and Fiber arts, as well as in jewelry making and metal smithing.

I enjoyed many aspects of Art History, but concentrated on Early Northern European Renaissance Art. I was able to travel to Europe to study these artists and was able to visit the major museums in London and Paris, as well as Amsterdam and Brussels, and visited many obscure places that contained these artist's works. I have planned to return some time in the future to see some more of what I was not able to see the first time.

At the moment we live in West Virginia where there is an abundance of artists. This area is a haven of forgotten art of whose art I enjoy gazing upon for inspiration. While I concentrate on the weaving on the loom and producing wall pieces and rugs, I look at the natural beauty and quiet times in the mountains for inspiration and solitude.
